Saginaw County Youth Pheasant Hunt
The Saginaw Conservation district is partnering with Pheasants Forever, The Michigan DNR, and the Saginaw Field and Stream Club to put on the 2024 Youth Pheasant Hunt. The event will start at the Saginaw Field and Stream Club Headquarters (1296 N. Gleaner Rd, Saginaw), with a short skeet shooting opportunity. Guided hunts will take place at various locations throughout the Shiawassee River State Game Area, followed by a lunch and wrap up at the DNR Field Office in St. Charles (225 E. Spruce St, St. Charles).

Hunting/shooting experience is not required, though highly encouraged. Bringing your own shotgun is encouraged, though some shotguns may be provided. Dress for the weather as it will take place rain, shine, or snow. Hunter orange and hearing/eye protection is required. Each child will be allowed to take two birds during the event. ​​​​
Requirements:

Must have completed Hunter's Safety & have a valid Base License

Must be accompanied by an adult​

Non-toxic steel shot MUST be used on the Game Area

Hearing/Eye Protection is required

Hunter Orange must be worn when in the field.
